A short summary of what is moving in the Peruvian fruit trade this year, written for buyers. We update it each season.

Peru keeps growing

Peru exported US$8.1 billion of fruit and vegetables in 2025, up 11.5% on 2024 (Midagri). Blueberries led at US$2.46 billion, followed by grapes at US$1.96 billion and avocados at US$1.36 billion. By volume, SENASA certified 767,230 t of avocados, 555,524 t of grapes and 343,537 t of blueberries.

Avocado: congestion in Europe's summer

Rabobank's Global Avocado Update 2026 describes heavy overlap between Peru and South Africa in Europe from June to August, pushing prices down. Mid size fruit, calibers 14 to 18, holds a premium. Global avocado exports are forecast to keep growing, while El Niño conditions raise disease and quality risk in Peru. Peruvian growers also saw fertilizer and crop protection costs rise 18% between February and May 2026.

For buyers: specify calibers precisely, watch dry matter at the start of the season, and consider early (April and May) and late (August and September) windows.

Table grapes: record season, uncertain next one

Peru shipped 86.4 million boxes in 2025/26, up 4% (Provid). White seedless grapes were 62% of exports. For 2026/27, the industry warns that El Niño may cut volumes and shift timing.

For buyers: secure programs early and keep flexibility on variety.

Mango: big volumes, lower prices

Peru exported 289,508 t of fresh mango in 2024/25, more than three times the previous season (SENASA). Export prices fell 46% in 2025 as supply rose (Fresh Fruit Peru). Promango forecast more than 250,000 t for 2025/26, with a season extending into April.

For buyers: good value, but check maturity and treatment records closely when volumes are high.

Blueberries: Peru stays the leader

At US$2.46 billion in 2025, blueberries are Peru's largest fruit export. The United States remains the main market, followed by the Netherlands and China.
